Research Interests

My research explores the interaction between the ocean and cryosphere. I am a physical oceanographer with interests in ocean-glacier interactions, coastal dynamics, and polar processes. My work investigates submarine melting of glaciers in Greenland and Alaska, and the effect of glacial meltwater on ocean circulation. Broadly, I am interested in how heat and freshwater are exchanged between the ocean and cryosphere, and I explore these dynamics across a variety of scales, from the ocean-ice boundary layer to the continental shelf ocean.
