Congratulations!!!! to Elisabeth Sikes who has been awarded the promotion to Distinguished Professor. This was a strong recognition of her paleoceanography insights and improved understanding of how the circulation in the Southern Ocean influences the global biogeochemistry. To do this work she has innovated a series proxies allowing the reconstruction of past temperatures. Her significant contributions have been recognized by the American Geophysical Union and the international Scientific Committee of Antarctic Research.
