Sarah Borsetti, a PhD candidate at the Rutgers Haskin Shellfish Research Lab, was selected to receive the New Jersey Chapter of the Society of Women Environmental Professionals (NJSWEP) Graduate Student Scholarship. The purpose of the Scholarship Program is to encourage women to pursue careers in an environmental field while providing both networking and mentoring opportunities with NJSWEP members for future careers in the environmental industry. Borsetti studies waved whelk, unfished marine gastropod, off the NJ coast. Her work examines the species biology and ecology and the shifting population dynamics of this benthic invertebrate in a rapidly changing climate.
