Summary
What problems is our ocean facing?
Our ocean is facing a variety of challenges due to increased human activity. Events such as sea level rise, ocean acidification, microplastic production, overfishing, and nutrient runoff stress marine ecosystems around the globe and are only becoming more prevalent.
How do we solve these problems?
Marine scientists and conservationists tackle these issues from many angles. What is most important to researchers is that we collect plenty of accurate data, so that we may determine the most effective approach. Using satellites, CODAR, and underwater gliders, scientists are provided with the data necessary to make these assessments.
