All Notes (12)
Potentially water inside sci bay aft hull/ring and slightly into aft hull/sci bay joint. Was dried up and non-increasing. Dessicant seemed fully absorbed. No idea when the leak may have occurred.
Glider was recovered due to fin aborts. Most ended up being fin could not go hardover starboard due to loosening set screw. It also got stuck there too.
Also high power usage was partially/mostly/all tied to SBMB2. It drew 50 mA more than any other tested boards with any persistor. Swapped for ru29's SBMB2. Power so far appears 1 AH/day lower.
Recovered by Chip, Dave, Jaden, Sam on the Arabella.
Comparison CTD cast done with SB19 s/n 1645 and ballast tank laptop. Glider segment: ru28-2020-293-0-48
Initial inspection identified rudder screw as probable fin issue culprit.
Flew great overnight 10 deg fin and no warnings...
Wouldnt know it only had 10 deg of fin, calm seas?
Was able to unstick fin, nothing special just moved it slight past .33 and slightly below, reported current and it freed.
Set limits to about 10 deg in longterm
Turned off integrated error.
Lets get it home
Oddities build normally as mission goes on looked at some old ru28 data.
ru25 fin had maybe 1 segment of warnings before kaput.
ru28 has had about 24+ hours worth and appears kaput.
Conclusion - fin problems develop fast, don't take lightly.
Drifting with fin stuck hardover at +.33 rad
Abort for digifin.
Downloading MLG, MBD and preceeding MLG
MLG's - shows movement warnings
MBD - shows fin hardover starboard and didn't come back from there. About 23.5 degrees in this case.
2nd inshore leg possible good example to send to TWR to fix the CC bug...
Could have caused us to beach.
Next surfacing - climb-to to 4.25, u_reqd_depth_at_surfacing 1.75
Science off, current problems and potentially fast battery drain
Dropping TBD to every 6th yo until we clear the NY bight apex. SW winds, fighting for life.
