Lithium Ion Mission
ru23 recovered by Tom W. and Bill B. out of Chincoteague. Nilsen S. was there as well.
2 hour missions
u_pitch_max_delta_battpos .05
yo: dive to altitude from 5 to 3.5 to get closer to bottom.
Changed TBDlist to only 2 downcasts of optics, and CTD to about half the segment of up/downs.
Altimeter working better, but has a bad hit early in the dive, it might be from over-pitching so may try to dampen the gains to help with that.
Re-tasked alongshore, inline with Chincoteague inlet
Assist altimeter: (over pitching a bit)
u_alt_reqd_good_in_a_row 2
u_pitch_max_delta_battpos .075
Some bottom sampling.
Perhaps should make it standard for shallow coastal gliders
reqd_num_hits = 2 from 3 for altimeters, perhaps even the filter too...
Re-tasked to 300 deg, WNW to see if we can get to Chincoteague and then onward
Switching to 3 hour surfacings
u_min_water_depth 15
5 off surface, 5 off bottom
from
3 off surface, 7 off bottom
(glider was breaching and flying not very close to bottom)
**NOTE: This glider does NOT have an AQD attached. That is a relic of the existing glider configuration.
