All Notes (11)
Lost my previous note, this one much shorter:
1) leak in aft section, not sure if seals or digifin (or something on aft cap)
2) li ion connector damage from a burn, too hot, what be it
3) nothing in front of glider, nothing in front of aft science bay
4) ctd light damage
5) port wing rail bottom half lost with wing
6) salt or corrosion on internals of glider pressure sensor
Recovered, with the assistance of Big Mahi, by Todd (Mr. Tuna) out of Babylon, NY.
Great crew and no doubt recovery was smooth (minus Global Star sat phone).
Glider missing wing (wing rail broken) and numerous strange markings on underside noticed (unsure at this point what was there previously, more in a later comment).
Ethan picked up from Babylon on way to MRCH codar site.
Glider surfaced with a leak Fri, 26th. Strange yo on dive could be suspect. Leak suspected to be small, lithiums out of service.
Drifting for now, may or may not reset to get liths back online.
As of last night, 8/24 optics on every downcast.
TBD sync problems.
Changed yo to come up a little shallower by 1.25 m or so. Surface density low and we\'re slowing in it, lets hope storm mixes this stuff a little.
False bottom hits.
U_min_water_depth 40 m!!!
Never returned yo to 4.5 m below surface.
Under the lanes again.
Next segment will be 4 hours, 20 m deep, to avoid shipping lanes. Then back to normal.
Saving power / sampling:
bbfl2, bb3slo sampling every other downcast
bbam sampling every 4th downcast
4 sec TBD data, every other yo CTD, 4 sec remainder (all) optics
this is for this glider only
