Same note as current ud_134 deployment:
Using Gulf of Mexico deployment, pressure sensor of glider deemed to be off by a factor of 10% more than current pressure.
ie: at 50 meters, glider pressure reads 55 meters.
This was done using two different CTD payloads which both had the same results indication the glider pressure sensor was the anomaly.
Glider recovered by Oliver and Palmer team. Currents were strong and we wanted to re-ballast a bit. We also recovered because of pressure sensor discrepancy. I found time to investigate though at around the same time of recovery, following note contains details.
No longer plotting bathymetry (m_water_depth) on cross-section plots.
Glider has altimeter issues which are clearly evident in cross-section plots. Looks like krill/other biology, not altimeter performance.
overdepth abort: it appeared to overshoot, did not see anything strange about the segment. Backed off dive depth to 96, by 1 meter.
pressure sensor disparity - glider reads 9 meters deeper than ctd. Agrees at surface, not at depth, resembles being plugged?
Altimeter acting funny, will have to investigate in the morning on deeper dives to see if its a problem to worry about flying shallow.
Increased pitch_max_delta_battpos .04 to increase pitch control.
Retasked per Matt\'s waypoint list, email sent around with revised waypoints that are a bit safer after ru05\'s lessons.
