Research Interests
Kasey is currently a research assistant with the education and outreach team. She works with scientists to teach their research to K-12 students in after school and summer programs on and off campus as well as online. Most of her work focuses on bringing polar and marine science programs to underserved communities throughout New Jersey. Kasey is excited to continue her education and work towards a doctorate in a related field.
Short History
Kasey was born and raised in New Jersey and spent a lot of her childhood down the shore. She earned an A.S. in Biology from Middlesex County College in 2017 and B.S. in Biological Oceanography from Rutgers in 2020. During her time as an undergraduate she completed research and wrote a thesis on copepod microplastic consumption. She also worked at the Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) site at Palmer Station, Antarctica.
