Pulse Bios: Elisabeth Sikes
Liz Sikes is an Associate Professor at IMCS, Rutgers University. Liz is an organic geochemist who works primarily in the Southern Ocean, both in modern environments and investigating long term climate change. After getting her PhD from the MIT/WHOI joint program Liz moved to Australia where she received an Australian Research Council post-doctoral fellowship to investigate the climate change in the Southern Ocean. She then continued on to work for the Australian Geological survey for several years she moved to the University of Auckland before joining IMCS in 2001. The unifying theme in Liz' research is the interconnection of carbon cycling, ocean circulation, and global climate change.
