I am working with Dr. Paul Falkowski measuring the kinetics, rates and quantum yields of marine photosynthesis. In particular, I am looking at how photosynthetic rates and yields are effect by nutrient limitations, as well as the mechanisms controlling the size of the photosynthetic antenna. In addition, I am working with Dr. Diane Adams on a project to determine coral susceptibility to ocean acidification through functional analysis of biomineralization.
I was born in Israel, where I have been in close proximity with the ocean all my life. While attending an undergraduate program in marine biotechnology I worked as a diving instructor as well as working at my campuses’ sailing club. After graduating I worked as a TA at my collage and as a RA at the university of Haifa in Israel. My deep involvement with the ocean drove me to purse a graduate degree at Rutgers. My hobbies include diving, sailing, underwater photography and hiking.
