The manual is defined for CTD data but are relevant to DO as well. Raw dissolved oxygen that failed either the gross range test or the spike test was removed before shifting in time, and the tests were reapplied after shifting. Manual: https://cdn.ioos.noaa.gov/media/2017/12/Manual-for-QC-of-Glider-Data_05_09_16.pdf; Flag Values: 1=pass, 3=suspect, 4=fail - There were optode issues during the first deployment (September-October 2022). Persistent issues in oxygen data quality were seen between approximately 2022-10-07 00:30Z and 2022-10-08 17:45; we removed all dissolved oxygen data from this time window. Sporadic issues were also seen outside this time range, so we added a generic 'optode_flag' to identify suspect data that is not easily identified by the QARTOD tests. Following the breakdown of stratification, oxygen concentration was consistently above 7.36 mg/L. This optode_flag "test" flags any profiles after 2022-10-3 (when stratification broke down) with data falling below 7.04 mg/L as suspect (3) and any profiles with data falling below 6.40 mg/L as failed (4). We were unable to identify any specific issues with the optode and some data that is not flagged may also be questionable. The optode_flag test was not applicable earlier than 2022-10-03 because the water was stratified with a wider range of concentrations. Data looks ok during the first half of the deployment but issues may have been masked by the wide range of concentrations. We believe these optode issues were limited to the first deployment of the season.
