SummaryDeployment of an autonomous glider in the Gulf of Mexico to perform physical and optical surveys to characterize the interaction
of the Loop Current with the Gulf of Mexico shelf slope interface. The glider was deployed south of Houston and will transect
southeast towards the loop current. This real-time data set contains CTD, optical backscatter, colored dissolved organic
material and chlorophyll a profiles. The data set will be pushed to the United States IOOS Glider Data Assembly Center, where it
will be harvested by the National Data Buoy Center and released on the Global Telecommunication System for real-time and
hindcast ocean and hurricane modelling efforts
