SummaryThe Sub-Mesoscale Ocean Dynamics Experiment (S-MODE) is a NASA Earth Venture Suborbital-3 mission with the objective to
understand what role submesoscale ocean processes play in vertical transport of heat, nutrients, oxygen, and carbon from the
ocean surface to the deeper ocean layers below. As part of the programs, Seaglider and SGX underwater gliders occupy patterns
across small-scale fronts and filaments of interested. Gliders profile from the sea surface to 1000-m depth and back every 6
hours while traveling at a speed of roughly 20 km/day
