SummaryThis glider deployment will be part of our continuing 'Investigation of Mid-Atlantic Cold Pool Dynamics: The Ocean Glider
Component.' The program goal is to measure the seasonal-varying 1km-100km features of the Mid-Atlantic Cold Pool. To do this, we
will deploy glider BLUE for its Mission-9 from UMassD's RV Lucky Lady at a site west of Gay Head Martha's Vineyard, MA (41 14.89
N/70 57.21 W). BLUE will be equipped with a CTD, optical measurements of chlorophyll, backscatter, CDOM, and oxygen. Glider BLUE
will saw-tooth its way southward toward the western corner of the OOI Pioneer Array glider domain and then proceed to zig-zag
across the shelf on to New Jersey (NJ), where it will be recovered about 21+days after deployment. During its transit, glider
Blue will slice through the Cold Pool four times, providing valuable information on the seaward and landward extent of the Cold
Pool throughout the northeastern MAB
