REMOTE SOUNDING SENSOR LINKS
Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit (AMSU) - Lots of data; AMSU and HIRS weighting functions.

NOAA - Soundings -

GOES Sounders -

Microwave Sounding Unit (MSU) Seasonal Temperature Anomalies - Generate contour plots from National Climatic Data Center archived data.

Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS) Web Site - The Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS) experiments measure naturally-occurring microwave thermal emission from the limb of Earth's atmosphere to remotely sense vertical profiles of selected atmospheric gases, temperature and pressure.

Atmospheric Dynamics Data & Resources - TIROS Operational Vertical Sounder (TOVS) Pathfinder Data.   Contains on-line subsetting of TOVS path A & B gridded data - choose latitude & longitude to generate dataset.

Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) - NASA is building a new instrument, the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS), to make highly accurate measurements of air temperature, humidity, clouds, and surface temperature. The data collected by AIRS will be used by scientists around the world to better understand weather and climate, and by the National eather Service and NOAA to improve the accuracy of their weather and climate models. AIRS will fly aboard the AQUA spacecraft of the Earth Observing System (EOS), scheduled for launch early in the twenty-first century.
