DESCRIPTION
The Catalog Criteria panel is used to set criteria for generating the Catalog
list in the main display panel. These criteria do not come into play until a Pass Type
of Catalog is selected and the List button is pressed in the main panel.
There are five distinct sets of criteria which can be used in any combination. If a
satellite pass meets all selected criteria, it is listed. The search criteria are
single telemetry, one or more satellites, start and end date, masterfile coverage, and
tape label.
At this time, coverage criteria does not apply to geostationary satellite passes.
Geostationary satellite passes are assumed to meet any coverage criteria, no matter how
absurd.
PANEL ITEMS
- Search By
- This is a choose-many item for selecting up to five different search criteria for the
pass catalog. At least one criteria should be selected, or no cataloged passes will be
listed. The default is DateRange.
- Telemetry
- This item is enabled only if selected search criteria includes Telemetry. The
list of telemetries is based on all active and inactive satellites listed in the $PASSDIR/satlist
file, and satellite versus telemetry rules found in $SATDATA/SATSETUP.
- Satellites
- This item is enabled only if selected search criteria includes Satellites.
Satellite names should be entered in lower case, separated by spaces. Wildcards are not
supported. Satellite names should be defined in both $PASSDIR/satlist and $SATDATA/SATSETUP.
- Start Date
- This item is enabled only if selected search criteria includes DateRange. It uses
the hh:mm:ss format in GMT. The default is yesterday's date GMT.
- End Date
- This item is enabled only if selected search criteria includes DateRange. It uses
the hh:mm:ss format in GMT. The default is today's date GMT. End Date should
be greater than or equal to Start Date.
- Master
- This item is enabled only if selected search criteria includes Coverage. It
defines the masterfile used for coverage calculations. Masterfiles can be selected using
the pulldown menu, or by manually entering a name. Pulldown menu choices are files in the
directory $PASSDIR/masters.
- The center of the masterfile is considered the target with respect to satellite and sun
elevation calculations.
- Trg Elev
- This item is enabled only if selected search criteria includes Coverage. It
determines which satellite passes will be listed, based on how high the satellite
gets relative to the target. A given satellite pass will be listed only if the maximum
satellite elevation relative to the target exceeds this number. The valid range is [0,
90]. The default is 0.
- Sun Elev
- This item is enabled only if selected search criteria includes Coverage. It
defines the minimum sun elevation relative to the target. Sun elevation is computed when
the satellites is at its maximum elevation relative to the target. This item is ignored
when it is zero. The valid range is [0, 90]. The default is 0. To list only daytime
passes, use Sun Elev of 1.
- Label
- This item is enabled only if selected search criteria includes TapeLabel. It must
be manually entered, and is case sensitive.
- Help
- This button item brings up this description.
- Quit
- This button exits this panel. It does not change the list on the main panel. The List
button on the main panel must be pressed in order to generate a new list of satellite
passes.
