Laser In-Situ Scattering Transmissometer (LISST) data from NOPP-99


The LISST, developed by Sequoia Scientific, measures particle size spectra in 32 log-spaced bins ranging from 1.25 to 250 microns. Particle concentration is measured for each bin in units of micro-liters/liter. The links below point to LISST data obtained by the Optics group for the month of July. The sampling protocol consits of a series of cross-shelf transects at strategic locations within the opertaional boundaries of the NOPP sampling arena. The exact path is determined the day before, based on observations and model predictions that identify the location of potentially "interesting" phenomenon. Also included are data collected during an unrelated experiment in late June.
