Notable Events and Scientific Results of the day

The Webb Ocean Surface Glider completed its first ever open ocean missions, acquiring accurate data for upwelling research.

Tonight the Optics group conducted the first ever Bio-luminescence REMUS run in the world!

shipdata.gif (5960 bytes) The upwelling is still stagnating just below the surface at the coast, but southwesterly winds have begun and are expected to continue for the next few days.

722colors.jpg (74742 bytes) Ohh, look at the pretty colors from the Bio-luminescence profiler. 722joeosc.jpg (51611 bytes) Joe and Oscar do a little astronomical observations.  "So, Oscar. What's your sign?" Joe was quoted as saying.
722oscar.jpg (37950 bytes) Oscar reaches for new hights in optical research. 722rain.jpg (70370 bytes) Is this a scene from Jurassic park?
