A high pressure system along the New York / Vermont border will drift slowly southeast and reach the southern New England coastal waters this afternoon before drifting farther offshore tonight.  A weak warm front currently over the Ohio valley will approach the marine area tonight and dissipate while moving through the region on Thursday.

TODAY: A mix of clouds and sunshine. Patchy early morning fog. High near 80. East winds 10 to 15 KT becoming SE at the same speed this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. A 30 percent chance of a shower or thunderstorm late tonight. Low around 70. SE Winds 10 to 15 KT. Seas 2 to 3 FT. Visibility locally 1 to 3 NM in fog patches.
