Today's Weather:

Southerly winds continue for third day. Cloudy, so no satellite imagery since late yesterday. Cold water has not surfaced yet. LEO bottom temperatures cold (12C). Surface currents to north and offshore, bottom currents to north and onshore.


Today's Boat Assignments:

Arabella - NOPP Marine Educators

Caleta - Nearshore test of Webb Multi-Trip CTD drifters.

Northstar 4 - Bio-optical Survey.

Zodiac - WHOI REMUS Operations - Docking Runs

Northstar 6 - NUWC Turbulence REMUS offshore test.


Today's highlights:

Successful field test of turbulence REMUS. Sonatec ADV, RDI ADCP, 2 FSI CTDs, Accelerometer working. Trim adjusted for final test with Shear probes attached.

Successful near-shore test (12-9 m Depth) of Webb Multi-trip CTD. Profiler control sensitivities studied to optimize sampling of a strong thermocline a few meters above the bottom. Thermocline still a 6 m depth inside of LEO-15.
