Today's Atmospheric/Ocean Weather

Morning
Evening
ATMOSPHERE --- First of all let me say that we have never experienced a summer like this. From what I'm told, it's been the coolest summer since 1873. It's been six days since we have gotten any decent cloud data.
Winds were out of the North most of the day, with temps again around 71 F. It didn't rain, but it was cloudy all day.
Plots of today's weather data from the Field Station are shown below. Times are in GMT.

OCEAN -- Currents like we have never seen before. Southwesterly currents at 1.4 knots inshore were recorded by the CODAR system and the towed ADCP. The inshore waters continue to be homogeneous temperature wise, but a very fresh area of water is inshore near the surface. Same as yesterday.
