Today's Atmospheric/Ocean Weather

Morning
Evening
ATMOSPHERE -- A weak high has slowly pushed its way into our area, giving us a great day. Winds were from the southwest early, changing to northwesterlies. Temps, as usual, ranged from 70 to 80 today. Fog began to roll in toward dusk as the cool upwelled waters chilled the air above them.
Plots of today's weather data from the Field Station are shown below.

OCEAN -- The surface currents were mostly offshore, until late in the day when winds reversed them. The strong upwelling front continued to show itself along most of the New Jersey Coast, but should weaken during the next few days with the arrival of northerly winds.
