Biological Science Technician, St. Croix, US Virgin Islands

Position title:  Permanent full-time GS-5/6/7

Agency/Location:  National Park Service on St. Croix, US Virgin Islands

Salary:  (http://www.opm.gov/oca/08tables/html/gs.asp) plus 25% tax
              free COLA.

Qualifications:
This position is extremely multi-disciplinary. The best candidates will have experience in advanced scientific diving, boat operation, working long/irregular hours, have physical and mental toughness to excel in both tropical terrestrial and tropical marine field conditions, and a broad range of knowledge and experience in conservation and management issues including and associated with the following:

   Exotic plant and animal eradication
   Mangrove restoration
   Native upland restoration
   Wildlife reintroduction and management
   Avian management
   Threatened and endangered species management
   Sea turtle research and monitoring
   Tropical coral reef management
   Tropical fisheries management
   Spiny lobster and conch management
   Geology
   Water and air quality monitoring
   GIS
   Database management
   Descriptive statistical analysis
