We seek a new manager for a well-established ICP-MS lab at the Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences, Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA. The facility currently comprises Element-1 and Element-XR sector field ICP-MS instruments, ThermoFisher X-series quadrupole, Varian ICP-OES, and New Wave 193nm laser. Future expansion is envisaged to include multi-collector ICP-MS. The facility supports research across a broad range of disciplines, primarily focusing on marine geochemistry. Current major applications include analysis of trace elements in seawater, marine particulates, biogenic carbonates and sediments.
The successful candidate will be experienced in sector field ICP-MS maintenance and method development, well versed in clean trace element analytical techniques, and will have the personal and organizational skills to work with diverse collaborators, train students and post-docs in analytical and instrumental methods, and process and evaluate complex data sets. Applicants should have, at minimum, a Masters degree in science and substantial ICP-MS experience. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
