Education:
B.S., Salisbury University, and B.S., University of Maryland E.S.
Research Interests:
My main research interests are in biogeochemistry and phytoplankton
growth dynamics more specifically how dissolved organic matter (DOM) affects
the initiation and continued growth of Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs). My
research will address the role of DOM in the total available nutrient
pool for Aureococcus anophagefferens, Prorocentrum minimum and Karenia
brevis three
major HABs plaguing the East Coast and Gulf of Mexico.
Personal Interests:
In my free time, if I have any, I like to be outside as far away from
a desk as possible. I LOVE to fish!, travel, canoe, garden, grow orchids,
go to the beach/woods and simply have fun. When I can't be outside I enjoy
cooking, making margaritas and writing. Life is too short to spend it
doing one thing when you can do it all.
