Research Interests:
Ocean biogeography and geographical information systems, benthic ecology (especially continental shelf, slope, and rise communities), and ocean observing systems.

Personal Interests:
Going to sea whenever possible for work and pleasure. Working with other scientists to develop the Ocean Biogeographic Information System and completion of the first Census of Marine Life by 2010.
