Development of a large scale ocean circulation model which is used to conduct extended simulations of ocean currents and climate. This model is a valuable tool for addressing oceanographic questions which directly affect animal populations and the dispersal of pollutants.
Development of a coupled ice-ocean model of the Arctic Ocean with an eventual application to calculate the statistics of oil spill trajectories.
