Seminar in Applied, Environmental and Industrial Microbiology (16:681:685)
This is a one-credit course focused on specific aspects of applied, environmental
and industrial microbiology. The focus of the current course will be discussed
during the first meeting.
Microbial Life (16:681:501)
This is a three-credit course co-taught by Drs. Vetriani, Hägbblom and
Kerkhof. The major groups of microorganisms and their role in the ecosystem
will be discussed. Examples of topics that will be presented in class include
the basic principles of microbiology, evolutionary microbiology, microbial ecology,
geomicrobiology, metabolic diversity, microbial genomics, and applied microbiology.
General Microbiology (1:447:390; 11:680:390)
This is an introductory microbiology class co-taught by Drs. Eveleigh, Barkay, Vetriani and Tchikindas both in the Fall and in the Spring semesters, that fulfills the biology and biotechnology requirements of a Cook College biology major, and also pre-med and pre-vet requirements. The course includes a laboratory section coordinated by Dr. Davis.
