1) Monday, May 12th Piping Plovers: An endangered Beach Dweller [pdf summary]

As millions of NJ Beach goers enjoy their "fun in the sun", the piping plovers are struggling to survive.  These birds have been a protected species in NJ since 1984 and are protected by the Federal Endangered Species Act of 1986.  Todd Pover, Assistant Biologist with the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, will talk about the plight of the plovers, efforts to protect this fragile species, and what you can do to help these birds survive.
