Temperature in Celsius

These twenty or so images are a combination of CTD cross sections, satellite images, S4 current meter data, and wind data from the RUMFS field station. The CTD (conductivity temperature depth sensor) cross sections are provided by groups here at the Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences. They are performed once a month during the fall, winter, and spring and once a week during the summer, weather permitting. The cruise consists of a computer data logger, two technical assistants to aid the drop/lift of the CTD, and, of course, the boat captain. Occasionally additional biological, chemical, or sediment research is also done.

The images in the top, left corner of each picture are the temperature cross sections from station A1 to A7. The location of these stations can be seen on the satellite images as large X's. The cross sections are of varying lengths due to limited time or bad weather.

"LEO-15 Water Data" is data taken from the S4 current meter that is mounted on the ocean floor at station 9. These data values are the average for the day of the CTD cross section. The box directly below contains wind data for the sampling day as well as for the 6 previous days. Unfortunately, our wind sensor was down for the first 8 months of 1995.
