Rutgers
University Scholar-Teacher Award
On
May 20, 2000, Scott Glenn received the first Scholar-Teacher Award
from Rutgers President Francis Lawrence at his residence. This
new award recognizes faculty from all Rutgers campuses "whose
research initiatives inform and add excitement to their teaching and
whose work with students encourages and enriches students' learning
experience".

The award reads:
"In recognition of his passionate and tireless
dedication as mentor
of the intellectual and professional development of his students
and of his outstanding record of research in the field of oceanography;
his unique ability to integrate scholarship and teaching;and the high
acclaim of his students and colleagues both for the generosity, commitment,
and effectiveness of his teaching and for the consistently high level
of his
research accomplishments."
