Preparation  Week # 3

25 MHz CODAR System Installation at Sandy Hook - March 15, 2004

Checking the CODAR Shed before laying any cable down to the antenna site.

Running cable through antenna pole before placing receiver and antenna whips.

Placed whips on receiver, and stood up antenna.

Adjusting the whips on the receiver

Tightening the receiver to the antenna pole, and moving it so that it faced out to sea.

Finished 25MHz single antenna installation.

Making sure that the public does not trip or touch the communication cables, the cables are buried underneath the sand for protection.

Going back to the CODAR shed, GPS antenna is tested for communication inside shed and outside shed, and notes are written down for any followup work needed.

Before heading out after a successful installation, the power extension cord is labeled for others to know not to unplug power source for antenna and CODAR system.
