Today's Atmospheric/Ocean Weather

Morning Evening

ATMOSPHERE --- What a day. Southwesterlies in the morning and a cold front dropping through about 2:00 PM EDT. Everything reversed as you can see in the weather plots. RAIN, RAIN, and more rain in the afternoon and evening. This is a good day for hot chocolate.

Plots of today's weather data from the Field Station are shown below. Times are in GMT.

OCEAN -- There was an upwelling as of this morning, but the cold front that came through this afternoon will reverse that. In a span of 2 hours, wave heights at Node B went from 2.5 to 6.5 feet. Ooooffff..... Can you say mixing?
