ATMOSPHERE --- Southwesterlies dominated the day, a very humid and hazy day. Temps were in the mid 80s, and skies were very cloudy by 1:00 PM.

OCEAN -- TTHe thermocline is rising in response to the strong southwesterlies during the last couple of days. Satellite imagery will probably show a break to the surface sometime tomorrow afternoon. The fluorescence is also beginning to bloom at the nodes. The interesting surface plankton bloom inshore has continued to smell as the SeaWifs is showing values near 25 mg/m3. Yeah that's right. Now we need the in situ data to confirm that. The smell has been reported all over the news. Oscar was quoted in the papers yesterday about the smell. He likes smelly things......
