ATMOSPHERE --- No dominant wind direction today, except for the seabreeze in the afternoon. Temps were in the upper 70s, but clouds dominated the afternoon and evening. It doesn't look good for the remainder of the week

OCEAN --The upwelling continued to subside since yesterday. The dramatic change today was the amount of chlorophyll load in the surface. Maximum values on Saturday near the ends of the A and S1 lines were near 12 mg/m3. Today the maximum values had dropped to 4.3 mg/m3. Where did it go? That's what we are trying to figure out. We do know that fluorescence values in the thermocline in that area were 30% larger than on Friday, but we'll see what the optics crew tells us tomorrow about the details of the water column.
