Today's Atmospheric/Ocean Weather

Morning
Evening
ATMOSPHERE --- Ugh! Gross. Not a banner day as a low pressure system from our west moves in and gives us cool temps and rain. Weak northeast winds started this morning and began to intensify as the day went on. This should make for a BAD late afternoon on the water.
Plots of today's weather data from the Field Station are shown below. Times are in GMT.

OCEAN -- The sea state was good this morning but began to fall apart later as the northeast wind picked up. Surface currents were toward the southwest.
The fluorescence bloom continued offshore above the thermocline, but now extends at least as far north as the N1 line.
