OCEAN -- The "Red Tide Day". The PHYLLS sensor found a red tide bloom offshore, then directed the Rutgers Optics group on the R/V Walford to it during the early morning AM hours of the 23rd. They indeed found some bioluminescence in the water.
As far as upwelling goes, the surface layer was moving offshore but there was no true upwelling as the inshore waters remain fairly mixed after the Tuesday-Thursday storm. However, node temperatures do show the cold water moving back in again.
