OCEAN -- The surface currents were mostly offshore, but the inconsistant winds over the past week have allowed the upwelling to subside slightly. The surface temperature warmed 4 degrees (inshore) over the past week. A clear phytoplankton image also indicates the lack of any significant upwelling. But, forecasts over the next few days are for southwesterly winds, which should bring up that cold water that is just below the surface.
