Conductivity Temperature Depth Sensor (CTD)
Conductivity Temperature Depth sensors (similar to the one shown here) are used by scientists
at each node to get profiles of the water from bottom to top.
In addition to temperature and salinity, scientists can retrieve data on
water clarity, phytoplankton content and dissolved oxogen.
