Melvin Ways
It has long been a debate as to the existence of the majestic sea dragon. These creatures are as massive as they are deadly; with bodies told to be stretching over 2 miles these specimen are as large and deadly as they are frightening. We try to lesser the menace by portraying him as a harmless member of the seahorse family that mimics sea weed as its camouflage. However even religions have be based on these so called sea monsters. So… are they as bad as we think or is this phenomena of a creature the most deadly force on the earth as depicted in the religious writings that we have today?
The only current animal that we have knowledge of and call a “sea dragon” is the leafy sea dragon that inhabits Australia. The only reason they are called sea dragons are because of their large size for being a sea horse, reaching a length of eight-teen inches. However these are not the epic monsters we have come to learn about who tip ships and wreck havoc they are small algae eating specimen.
The most referred to acknowledgement of a sea monster is the Leviathan. It is said this beast is 300 miles in length, and had jaws that could create whirlpools. This is also one of the first accounts of fire actually spewing from the dragon’s mouth as well. It is sad that the Leviathan has been around since the dawn of creation, without a mate for it is believed that God smote the female counter part of the Leviathan. It is said that the creature inhabits the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Whatever the case maybe all those in the Leviathan’s path were sure to be boiled to death or swallowed whole.
