Personal Details

Research Interests

I'm interested in using speleothems (stalagmites) to examine rainfall variability and changes in regional ecosystems. Specifically, I am concentrating on using Indonesian speleothems as recorders of the hydrologic cycle in Indonesia and of factors controlling that cycle (ITCZ position, ENSO/East Asian monsoon interactions, volcanism, etc.). I'm also very interested in methods for teaching climate change, and in the intersection of science and public policy.
